The Miss Pennsylvania competition is a week long event in which the representatives from each of the local Pennsylvania programs, head out to Pittsburgh, PA with hopes of being crowned Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania’s Outstanding Teen.
This year the competition is being held from June 8th till June 14th. More information on this yearly event can be found at the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Pageant’s website.
Here are a few updates on how our local pageant program representatives are doing:
Chandler Swift (Miss York County Outstanding Teen) – won the Smile Award, 3rd place for raising Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) funds (which earned her a $250 scholarship), and was recognized for having received her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award and working towards her Silver.
Madison Deitrich (Miss Susquehanna Valley’s Outstanding Teen) – made Top 10, and was 2nd place in raising Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) funds (which netted her a $500 scholarship).
Elisa Rivera (Miss White Rose City’s Outstanding Teen) – received the prestigious Teens in Training Scholarship.
As Saturday evening approached, all of the Miss Representatives were busy getting ready for their time on the stage, in order to have the chance at being crowned the new Miss Pennsylvania.
Here are the results as the night drew to a close:
Tristalyn Bixler-Kint (Miss York County) – received The Kevin J. McAleese Memorial Scholarship Award, along with one other Miss Representative (each received $250 for that award).
Francesca Ruscio (Miss Susquehanna Valley) – placed in the final Top 10.
The new Miss Pennsylvania is Amanda Smith (Miss Southwestern Pennsylvania).
